Thank you to all the other
committee members !!
Now it's my turn to thank the others on the committee. To Ann and Gary who lent us their home for some really fun meetings, thanks so much. To Gary who was the driving force behind making sure everything went off smoothly and without a hitch, we couldn't have done it without you. And to dear Ann, his "right hand gal", she was the best assistant to Gary in the world. He dictated what needed to be done, Ann took the notes and did the follow up. And then who could not appreciate her for those wonderful historic albums that brought us such joy. Thank you so much Ann. I don't know how you do it but we're so happy that you do. To Lenny who helped in so many ways. He and Gary were almost solely responsible for ordering all the food and supplies, for picking them up, for making sure everything got to the gazebo and even making sure everything got returned. Men like that working behind the scenes made everything work so flawlessly that you would have thought the party was catered. And thanks to Bill Hynes who was always at the meetings, giving out his advice and what became his expert opinion. Because he had been to so many of Marcia's WHS '57 reunions, he always had great ideas to share. And thanks to Bob Keggins who was only able to attend one meeting before other commitments made it impossible for him to continue. We missed him at subsequent meetings. So while I may have received most of the attention for the books and bottles, I'm here to tell you that these other people worked their butts off, but not one person complained. This was a joint venture straight from our hearts. We wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves and from the wonderful rave reviews we have been receiving from so many of you, we succeeded. And that, after all, was our goal!!
Another bunch of thank-you's go out to Chuck and Lucy St. Joseph who gifted Ann and Kathy with beautiful roses. We were so surprised and pleased. And then to Mo who silently placed a lovely bouquet of lavendar at each person's place at the Saturday night dinner. What a nice gesture and they were such an wonderful addition. Mo also was responsible for doing a little shopping between the luncheon and the dinner and gifting Gary and Lenny with cute little chef hats. And then several other committee members received wonderful bottles of wine and some little comical favors. Very much appreciated! It's just amazing how much everyone did to contribute to the success. |
